I had the PC Suite v6.80.22 working absolutely fine. I had my
bluetooth headset working very well with my PC too. Then I installed
the latest version of the PC Suite. What a massive mistake that was.
Nothing worked after that.
However, you want to know how to get PC suite working. Firstly, XP SP2
does not support Bluetooth Audio. So, I installed the Toshiba BT
stack. After that my headset worked. So, if you can install PC Suite
v6.80 and the Toshiba BT stack everything should work. Before
installing the Toshiba stack though it is necessary to delete the
Microsoft one. It could be that, being a Toshiba laptop, that it has
the Toshiba stack - check in device manager. I read an article
somewhere explaining just how to do it all but I've not been able to
find it since.
I am not clear as to why you want to install such an old version of PC
suite as 4.88. I assume that you know that you can download newer
versions of the PC suite from the Nokia web site.
My phone is a 6230i, I wouild imagine that the 6310i would be
supported on v6.8 of the PC Suite. If you are not bothered about
running a bluetooth headset with your PC then you might find that
simply installing the PC Suite will be enough to commuicate with your
phone.
