In my case, if someone sends me an MMS I just get a regular text message
telling me to go to O2's website to view it. If I try to send one, it seems
to start sending (I get the GPRS and spinning paperclip icons and any nearby
speakers buzz like mad) but then reports "Multimedia message sending
failed". It's as if media messaging isn't activated on my account, but O2
insist it is and have even tried deactivating and reactivating it to no
avail.
This is using my Nokia 6230i, but I also tried my sim in a 7250i and get the
same problem. O2 have sent me a new sim and continually re-sent the
settings to my phone, but it still doesn't work. I'm convinced the problem
is at their end.
I've only just renewed my contract and changed to a different tarrif. I
wonder if something got messed up? I have both GPRS for media messaging and
GPRS mobile web set up on my account and it all worked fine until recently -
WAP and mobile web still does.
