Default o2 - MMS problem : update

after hearing nothing back from o2 via email, I rang their CS
department. Spoke to an Indian gentlemen who was said he had added
100texts a month free to my account, and that I'd be able to MMS
today. He also gve me a 10pound credit to compensate for the trouble.

Today, I received a text saying there had been a problem setting up
picture messaging on my account and to ring CS.

I did so, with steam coming out of my ears, and chose the "I have
already contacted you about this problem" option.

I got to speak to an English gentlemam, who listened patiently, and
then apologised, and said I had been unlucky to deal with some
"numpties" (his words).

Turns out o2 had 2 discount tariffs - one which allows MMS, one which
didn't. You can guess which one they put me on ! He said the Indian
guy clearly hadn't understood, and gave me 400 free texts a month for
12 months.

Interestingly enough, the text I got about MMS was a red-herring.
Nothing to do with my account, it's a known network issue.

So result ... i won't be cancelling. For now.
