o2 upgrade

hi guys

im about to upgrade my contract for the third year running with o2and
well for the first time o2 are not playing ball with me! lol

i want to upgrade to the k850i and they are telling me i have to pay
£30 p/m for 18m contract, but with my insurance and the internet
bolton, i'l be paying £42.50 a month!

im currently paying - £20 for 400mins - 800 txts.

I was told that the ohone may come down in price, what im wondering is
- how can i get what i want or would it be best to ugrade without a
new contract and wait for the phone to go to prepay?

i do normally go as far as requesting my pac code - nd that normally
works?

any tips would be useful?
