Default Odd problem with a 6280

Hi,

I have a Nokia 6280 that has a strange problem - I keep all my
contacts in the phone meory and therefore have the memory in use set
to phone.

However, I am increasingly finding that the phoe is resetting the
option to phone & sim and therefore when I open up Names I see
duplicate entries of all my contacts. I reset the option to Phone and
it's fine for a while, but then it changes again all by itself.

The software version used is V03.81, dated 09/05/06 and RM-78
(Whatever that is)

Anyone come across this - and if so any idea if there is a fix
available?

Cheers

Peter

I've always found that this happens on my Nokias when the battery is
taken out and reinserted.

Do you do similar, or perhaps let the battery run right down?

Not taken the battery out, although I have let the battery fully
discharge once or twice - but the memory problem appears to be
independant of that.

To be perfectly honest, V3.81 on the 6280 is ancient and filled with
bugs. You'd be better getting a Nokia Service Centre to update the
firmware to V5.90, or I believe V6.10 is also out now. On getting
upgraded from 3.81 to 5.9 on my own 6280, it almost doubled the battery
life and stopped (most of) the crashes and general bugginess.

Many thanks - it's off to a service centre then.

My local service centre loaded V6.43 onto the phone today - letts see
if that's fixed it - I hope so!
