Default oil presure lamp

Why is it now, on both my old octy and current citroen, that the oil
pressure lamp comes on then goes off again, before i have even cranked/fired
up the engine? Also, if i stall out the engine, it does not come back on.
all my other cars did this correctly and lit up.

Could be a fault, or more likely it comes on to show it is working and then
goes out.

If you just bought the car check that the sender is not disconnected or
shorted out...
