Default Orange OVP - change of address

I am presuming that there will be no problem to keep my Orange OVP if I
change address and keep my name on the account...?
Will there be a problem if I changed the name on the account (i.e. put
it in my friend's name) as going overseas for a while?
Thanks for any help.

Should be no problem changing address, but to transfer to another name the
new owner will have to be credit checked. I would worry that one they Orange
will no longer allow transfers, so you *could* have problem getting back...

Martin

I assume you are referring to OVP Virgin?

It's just a tariff like any other.

You can't just do that on your own, your friend would be required to co-
operate also. 0800 079 0005 is the number you need to ring to initiate
the transfer.

Who is going to pay the bills while you are away? If they'll still be paid
from your credit card or by a direct debit from your bank account, it's just
a matter of sending the statements to a different address - which shouldn't
be a problem - they could still be sent to you, c/o whoever.

If your friend is going to pay the bill from his/her account there *may* be
a problem. Since you cannot open a new OVP Virgin (if that's what it is)
account, I'm not sure whether you can transfer them to anyone else.

I was thinking of just using his address as a c/o for me. OTOH, it might
be easier to put it all in his name but then I don't want to risk losing
the OVP Virgin tariff.
Thanks

A transfer is quite possible. The tarrif makes no difference.

Since the rental is £0.00, just put a bar on the account and keep the
SIM somewhere safe. You'll get a bill for £0.00 every month.

So, they won't "terminate" the account because it is no longer offered
even if I transfer?
Thanks

No. A transfer is exactly that - a transfer.

Even though the tariff is no longer offered there are certain teams of
people who have access to the tariff archive and can reconnect anything.
All the old plans are in there, old talk 60, ED50 etc.
