Default Orange PAYG - Free Texts

I'm thinking of switching from O2 to Orange.

I have a Orange SIM card and if you topup with £20 a month they give you 600
free texts a month.

1) Does the free texts start on the same dayas you topup?

2) Do you still keep the £20 you toped up with?

3) When sending a text do they send delivery reports and are they charged
like they are on Contract?

They'll start soon after you top-up - normally around 24-48 hours
after. You can check if they're active by calling 453 and choosing
option 1 after hearing your balance.

The £20 will stay as 'normal' credit to be used for calls, internet,
roaming etc. Texts you send will of course decrease the free allowance
before the 'normal' credit.

Delivery reports work fine - and no charge for them on PAYG (yet....!!)

In news:g5kb88$9pg$1@news.albasani.net,

unexplained reason:

For 20 quid a month you'd be better off on a contract. Do you actually
make £20 of calls in a month..? Or would you be making calls just to use
up the "free" minutes..?

Do you actually send 600 text messages a month..?

Ivor

Agreed, I am in the process of porting to T-Mobiles sim only
Solo 15 tarrif. 650 texts and 350 anytime any network minutes per
month for the bargain price of £15.

Only a 30 day notice period as well. Considerably cheaper than an
Orange PAYG deal.

Regards

Tom

It depends on when you last topped up. It's quite complicated.

Yes.

Delivery reports are optional, I'm not sure if they are charged for or
not.

When first registering you get an 'analysis date'. You have to top up by
this date each month to get your free texts in the following month. On
first registering and subsequently if you miss the analysis date, the
reward is still applied but this can be up to 24-48 hours after the top
up date and I think your analysis date is reset to the new date.

You keep the £20.

Delivery reports are free.
