Default Orange PAYG PAC

Please can anyone advise if it is possible to transfer my Orange PAYG number
(which I have been on for the past 8 years). Due to a lack of signal
quality in my area I wish to move to Virgin but keep the same number. Is it
possible to PAC my number to Virgin? Can I get orange to issue me a PAC
code?

I have tried OCS who tell me that I cannot transfer my PAYG number to a
contract on another network?! Dont know if the operator was just being
unhelpful?

Or poorly trained. You can get a PAC, just ask for it. If asked what
your intentions are tell them to mind their own business.

my sister did exactly that last year.

You used to be able to get through to the Orange Porting team direct
from a landline on 0800 376 2285, not sure if this is still the case.

Downright dishonest. You can PAC your PAYG number and you don't even
have to tell them where it is going as it is nothing to do with them at
this stage.

Ring up and insist they send you your code (Orange will only do this by
posting it to the registered address) Then when you get it ring Virgin
and give them the number.

Thnaks it worked. But am told I will loose the credite I have on it and am
unable to transfer it to another Orange PAYG Mobile or even my Orange
contract phone? I have £25.00 credit on it can I not ask to be sent a cheque
for it?

Your present phone will stay active until the port takes place. When you
have given the code to your new company they will confirm a date for
that to happen. You have till then to use up your credit. There is no
way to get it back - so use it.

You cannot transfer it to your contract, nor can you have a cheque for
it, however you should be able to transfer it to someone.
