Orange unlimited data £8?

Have again been told by orange salesman in a shop that unlimited
(subject to fair use etc) data is available for £8 but I still am not
being offered this under the bundles section of their website.

Does anyone have this bundle? I am on Select 500.

I changed my data bundle online a couple of weeks ago and got a text
from Orange stating i'd be put on the 8 quid for what is actually 30MB
data tariff as July 10, which happens to be my next billing date.

go to the Orange website.
go to "My Account" and then login to your account.
select "Change your bundles"
You'll see it under Data as Orange World 30.

Are there any extra limitations to this (like what it can and can't be
used for) that aren't on the Orange World 4? I wouldn't want to switch
only to find out I can't use it with a laptop.

Well, 30 meg just isn't enough for me. I need to use it with my
laptop. The charges over this are absurd.

Do you mean that 30M is 'unlimited' ?
T-mobile's 'unlimited' is 1GB.
Expensive data must have an effect on the economy. In the UK, possibly
in Europe, data is far too expensive. I'd like to see an investigation
into the charges made by mobile companies for data - or are they just
trying to rake back the money they paid for 3G licences?
It that is the case then the Government is to blame for imposing an
indirect 'tax' on data users.

The Orange "unlimited to a meg a day" price plan! The fact that they
don't get a large fine for this utter abuse of advertising clearly
shows how little protection UK consumers get from f**king liars.

The Orange product is marketed as "unlimited access to Orange World",
I.e. it's meant fro handset browsing. It's not meant as a phone-as-modem
remote worker kind of product.
