My guess was that there was no difference between these two because I
couldn't see how Orange could easily tell whether I was wapping or
internetting, quite how they would define the crucial difference if
they wanted to, or why they would charge differenttly if they
did. However, I notice on my bill that I seem to be being charged 4
quid a megabyte for wapping, and 1.25 quid a megabyte for
internetting.
I'm using a Nokia 9500, and when I connect to the internet via GPRS,
e.g. when I'm using puTTY to login to a remote UNIX file and web
server, or to do a bit of googling, it often gives me a choice between
Orange WAP and Orange Internet to connect through. Is the difference
between WAPPing and Internetting simply which one of these I click on
to connect, even though I'm doing exactly the same thing whichever I
use?
Incidentally I'm still using an ancient ED50 contract, although I
probably now no longer use enough of its virtues to justify keeping
it.
