PAC Codes

I am told by OSPS that it is not possible to port your existing online PAYG
o2 number over t oa contract? is that correct?

O2 give me a different story. They say it is possible.

It is possible to move your O2 online PAYG number to an O2 online
contract.

It is not possible to port your O2 online PAYG number to an O2 offline
contract.

Porting using a PAC is when you are moving from one provider to another,
as in from O2 to Orange or Vodafone to T-Mobile.

You can't port O2 to O2 as you are already on their network, however you
could transfer your O2 PAYG number over to a O2 contract.

OSPS may not have allowed it cos with some of their O2 deals you need to be
a new customer. I know when I was after a E60 with 9 months free I could
only take it out if I took a new number.

It is entirely possible on O2 to port all ways using a PAC code - they
don't do it internally, they do it as though it's a normal number port
- even though ur not changing network.

I have done it Online contract - online PAYG, online PAYG to offline
contract & online PAYG to online contract without problems (other than
the usual O" cock ups).

How... I have already received my phone from OSPS on O2 400 + Data Contract.
OSPS have said that they have taken my PAC code into their system but thry
do not know that my existing network is O2 otherwise they would not accept
the PAc Code. So I told them it was on another network (Orange?)?!?!?
