Default Pay monthly for the newcomer to the UK

Hi,

I am in the UK since 6 months only, resident in the UK. Is it possible
to get a pay monthly contract in this situation? Recently, when filling
in the forms at the Phones2udirect.co.uk I had to provide the 3 years
long address history ... Does this prevent me from getting a pay
monthly contract, that I live in the UK for 6 months only? It was not
possible to enter the address from my home country (as the previous
address).

I only have experience with this with Orange - but an application is
possible with less than three years history, however, with as little as
6 months history you will most likely find the network asks for a
deposit (usually £150-300), which is refundable after 12 months.

The only way to know the exact decision is to try, and as I said - I
don't know what ways the other networks deal with this.

I went thru this with a 'friend' recently.

If you try and 'fail' then you get a mark on your credit history, so the
more you try, the harder it gets - if you see what I mean.

I *think* that Orange are the 'least fussy' of the networks and I suspect
you'd be better going into a shop to do it rather than 'on-line'.
