You could look into O2's My Europe Extra. Best thing is, you can keep
the same SIMs (and thus receive calls - for free - from people who
might call your normal UK number that week). £10/month, 25p to any
mobile/landline in most of Europe (incl UK and Italy), and as
mentioned, free incoming calls.
