Default Phones with good internet browsing

Can someone provide feedback/advice on mobiles with good internet browsers
for wife who has just renewed her O2 contract without handset. The new
contract comes with 200mb a month internet access.

She very much likes the iphone but price-wise this is out of reach.

Thanks in advance

How do you/she define 'good'?

I use Opera Mini instead of the default browser on my nokia e51. It
works well most of the time, but I do get the occasional crash.

Possible touch screen with a fairly large display to be able to browse the
internet and read and write emails.

Does she want a keyboard to do lots of writing, or is a touchscreen OK for
typing? I had a play with an Android phone which looks interesting from a
web browsing poitn of view, but I don't think I'd have much fun tap-typing
on the screen.

Keyboard would be handy, most important is the quality of browsing.

You get could give me a list of few phones and I could look for further
reviews on the internet.

The LG KS360 has a qwerty keyboard and will run Opera Mini.

The Motorola Milestone is an Android phone with a keyboard. Bet it
isn't cheap, though.

The HTC Touch Diamond 2 that I have has a very good browser Opera Mobile
+ a high resolution screen, this combination produces extremely useable
web browsing as you get a zoomed out view in high res showing the whole
page and can then zoom in to enter text in google search for example
then it zooms out again to show you the results page.
