Hi

What are your experiences of the above re their cashback payments

My first payment doesn't seem to be going well, and they don't seem to reply
to emails

I don't really go for cashback deals but I got my sp5 from them since it
was the cheapest place even without the cashback. They didn't send me
with my phone the coupons you have to have in order to claim and their
T&Cs state that they won't reissue coupons after the first week (month?
can't remember) - of course you don't look for the coupons until the
6-month when you have to send one back.

I couldn't be bothered to argue the toss, there was only £15 cashback in
total.

Paul - I took out a phone with cashback with Phone2UDirect too. I've
not been impressed with things so far. The phone was late arriving (not
a good start!) and I haven't yet received my 1st cashback. I have now
posted in my 2nd cashback and put a letter in with it indicating my
displeasure and asking when I can expect to receive the cheque. I've
sent everything by Royal Mail Special Delivery so I have signed proof of
delivery that they received things. I e-mailed them twice in the
interim - no reply. I then called and the chap was actually reasonably
friendly - however as the cashback department "isn't customer-facing"
(which sounds like a well-worn excuse) he couldn't put me through to
them - promised to send them an e-mail though.

Geoff - Are you sure about the voucher side of things? I never remember
any talk of vouchers when I took out my phone and their latests T&Cs
(http://www.phones2udirect.co.uk/cust...ices/tandc.asp) say "Please
note in order to simplify the claims procedure, no further paperwork
will be sent to you in order for you to claim, we do not send out
vouchers and no vouchers are required to claim."

Will let you know how I get on but I would advise avoiding them at all
costs - I've stuck with either e2save or OSPS since then as at least
they have the backing of CPW (for all the issues people have had with
them I've actually found them pretty good).

Cheers

Alan

Same thing with me. Ignored letters and emails. May have to go for the
small claims court as I think I can show I have been reasonable whereas
they have not. Shame really

Agreed - I have just sent them another e-mail saying if they don't reply
by Wednesday I'll inform of plans to proceed to court action. I'll send
them a "Letter Before Action" as a couple of other posters mentioned.

ADVICE TO ALL READERS - DON'T take out a deal with phones2udirect! I
see that Reestit Mutton still lists their deals on his pages - given the
number of us posting here with problems I've e-mailed him to ask him to
remove them from his page. Hopefully this might help put pressure on them.

It appears that I am yet another victim of P2uD.

Reading their T & C - they ask for 6 month bill but also state it
should be over 180 days. The 6 month bill (issued at the start of each
month by the air time provider) means it will not be 180 days after
signing of contract. The claim has to be in within 21 days of the issue
of the bill. Can anyone advice which bill did you lodge for your 6 month
cash bcask claim and the outcome. Cashback team has declined to clarify
this point.

There has to be a way to stop these scrupplous companies for misselling
as clearly they have no intention of honouring the cash back claims?
Should we all be reporting P2uD to Ofcom or bringing them to the
attention of consumer advisors in the press?

Trading Standards every time - especially if you have (a) proof and
(b) names and addresses others with proof. You may well find that the
TS grapevine has been running on this supplier and another TS dept is
already compiling a list for prosecution.

Ofcom are nothing to do with it. Trading Standards is who to report it

Hi Kev

Well I've now received a cheque for £240 from them after threatening
impending legal action. I sent them the 1st bill I received after the
180 days had elapsed and then took the subsequent bill from 3 months
after that to be bill '9'. For the final bill I will be giving O2 a
month's notice to terminate the contract at the end of 12 months and
will send p2u my final bill for the final cashback.

Best of luck!

Alan

Thank you Woody and Jon.

I have the proof of my purchase, the original invoice and download of
their T & C. I am today writing to Trading Standard. I suggest you all
do the same for TS to take note.
