Default porting no from o2 to 3

I've just got a new three phone and I want to port my number from o2. three
said it will be done next Wednesday but my o2 phone has gone off today. That
means 6 days without my regular number - is that normal?

Two companies with the standards of customer service of O2 and 3.

What makes you think it will be only six days?

Wasn't when I ported. Three phone had new number, calls could be made and
received on the ported number on the Three phone, for about 2 hours the old
phone could make calls with the CLID the same as the now ported number.

My port from O2 to 3 went flawlessly. In 9 months I have found 3 customer
services to be helpful and they have done everything they said they would.
It could be that I am an exception, but it could also be that they have
improved.

Yes. Until the port is complete you will have to use the temporary number
that came with the 3 phone.

Not normal but I wouldn't be surprised that O2 have messed up! O2 are
not supposed to disconnect the service until the number is active on the
3 account.
