Porting question

Never ported my number before, do i keep my old sim and pop it into the
new phone? Or, do i use the sim that comes with the new phone?
Also, what are o2 like when it comes to porting?

On the day of the port the sim your transferring the number from will go
dead and the sim your porting the number too will go live with the ported
number. So you use the sim with the new phone. I've ported in and out of O2
with no problems.
