Try as I may I have had no luck in properly installing the SE suite
software, for k800i, for a friend. Has anyopne tried 'Floats' with
the k800i ?

Hi Dave,
Try the program my phone explorer from http://www.fjsoft.at/
I use the bluetooth version with my 750i and have no complaints at all, it's
free unless you wish to donate.
enjoy!

Several people recommend a product, and many hundreds more agree but
say nothing. So you decide to ask about some half-arsed alternative
that was not recommended.
FMA is the best tool for the job. If you don't want to use something
that does it well for free, I suggest you use Sage Accounts. OK, it
costs a lot of money and won't do what you want, but you've rejected
"free and good" so why not go for the opposite?

Yep I've found My Phone Explorer to work well too. Used to use FMA on
my previous SE phone but prefer the interface of MPE at present.

Thanks for that Jon, I assume successfully :-) .
I'll give it a try then.

Does anyone know of an application (preferably free) that allows storage of
SMS on a PC using a Samsung D500 phone. The software recommended here seems
to be only for SE phones.
I have used Samsung's rather poor "PC studio" but it doesn't store sms's
that are above a certain size (1 message limit?) which makes it next to
useless for my use.
Thanks for any help

Thanks John for the info.
I would prefer however some sort of application that allows me to download
all the messages in one go either via Bluetooth or wired connection to my
PC.
Anyone else any ideas please?
mobiledit is brilliant for this - free trial and then $25 but does all sorts of other sync stuff too
Don't know why Samsung can't manage to do this for themselves. Most of my SMS are more than 160 characters and I've never been able to save them before so my mailboxes have ben perpetually full. wonderful now they're empty....
