Default Re: Advice please.... PDA phone, operator and tariff?

I may be able to help you on this.

First of all, if you are intending to use a reasonable amount of data,
T-Mobile are unbeatable on data pricing at the moment.

I have the Vario 2 type device, which not only runs at 3g speeds, but
HDSPA (about 4 x faster than 3g at present). Surfing the net is *much*
faster than GPRS - also large email attachments open in seconds rather
than minutes.

However, you will first of all need to check T-Mobile reception in your
house, both non 3g and 3g - non 3g sometimes works where 3g doesn't and
vice-versa (I have a spare 3g phone I could lend you to test this, if
you happen to be in the London area).

If you have to stick with o2, I may be able to help you out on this
also, as, although o2 are the only one of the 4 main operators not to
offer a Vario 2 type device, I have a spare unlocked one, which I could
possibly bundle in as part of the upgrade deal.

Any of my customers formerly with o2 exec type devices have now moved
to vario 2 type devices instead - vario 2 has HSDPA wherease exec does
not, also my customers were always breaking the screen on the exec, or
damaging the twist mechanism. IMO, the exec is simply too big to use as
phone without using bluetooth and too big to comfortably fit in a
pocket.

Feel free to contact me should you wish to discuss further - my email
address is my full name with no dot at my business name dot com.

Incidentally, any figures I quote to businesses are always ex VAT - o2
should have made this clear to you however.

Regards
