Same situation as you, and now considering options to replace.

Initially looked at the E50, but there are a lot of adverse and
average reports so avoided.

6021 was another option, seemed to have a very similar spec to the
6310i and good reviews, but very few places seemed to stock it and I
couldn't get it on upgrade.

Currently considering the 6300, which is also getting good reviews.
Battery life seems lower than stated, but I wonder how many of the
comments are from people who charge it for the first time and moan
about not getting the run-time ;-)

Haven't dug into that yet, but most software uses text files for
storing profile information, so will probably just hack them to load
the data.

What battery performance have you had from it, compared with the
6310i?

TBH, I've not used the 6310i, but I'd expect slightly less with a colour
screen. I still go several days with mine, despite using it to check emails
daily, make calls, use the calendar and alarms. Bluetooth off gives better
battery life. Possibly 5 days, 4 with BT on.
