I've NEVER ever seen any plan anywhere which takes 0870/0845 and even
0800 calls out of the minutes.
Which is why http://www.saynoto0870.com/ lists 0800 number
alternatives, as it can be infinitely more expensive to call a so-
called "free" number from a mobile than a normal number!
eg: three, vodafone and o2 charge 15p/min for Non-geographic (e.g.084,
087, 080) numbers

So, a ten minute call to a "free" or 0845 or 0870 number would cost me
£1.50 from a mobile, or a "normal" number would cost...well, ten
included minutes!

Which is why I'm seeking out some service where I can dial a "normal"
number and they bill me for 08xx numbers, rather than the mobile co.

(Mind you, while I was looking around at those tarriffs, I see that
Three's data charges aren't that bad at all - £2.50 for 10Mb. One of
the others charges £3 PER MB!!)

I have one. 'Legacy' now, but was available for a long time. I still use
it for all my 0870 calls.

Orange Talk 200. Only does 0870, not 0845, for some strange reason. It
doesn't take 0800 calls out of the minutes because they are free anyway
on this plan!

My O2 tariff certainly did (0870 and 0845), and probably still does.

My mistake! You're right - there ARE some o2 tariffs out there that
do.
The reason I thought not was that somehow my girlfriend managed to get
upgraded to the "Long Weekends" tariff, and as we found...
"A usage limit of 2,000 minutes to UK mobiles and UK landlines per
billing month applies. Calls to 0844, 0845 and 0870 numbers are
excluded from the free long weekend minute allowance."

So I stand thoroughly corrected - useful to know, too!

The only orange plan that included 0845 was ED50 - and even then not to
begin with. That became included when the daytime rate dropped from
40p/min to 35p/min, and daytime answerphone dropped from 40p/min to
10p/min. At the same time, offpeak (out-of-bundle) 0845 dropped from
6p/min to 1p/min. Peak rate stayed at 12p/min, quite a useful anomaly.
