Very strange! This eetting definitely works - or many people who use it to
avoid mind-numbing bills when abroad whould be VERY upset!

Well yes - except there's a different switch, "No data roaming",
specifically for that purpose when abroad - and I can confirm that does
work, too!

But until the OP has a look at the detail on his bill we can't be sure
this £15 has resulted from data usage. Up until now that is only an
assumption.
