Default Recommendation sought - 3rd party retailer - Vodafone

Will shortly be starting a new Vodafone contract as only Voda covers one
of the places I stay regularly. Looking at the £35pm 750 minute talker
tariff, with a phone that I can use as a modem for my laptop once or
twice a month. Place I visit has no 3G coverage so its GPRS, OK for
e-mail downloads which is what I want. Won't be porting number - will
keep exiting o2 contract under my name but use it in the family - so a
whole new deal.

I can always go to a Vodafone shop and am not averse to doing that, but
3rd party retailers seem to do better deals. Carphone Warehouse would
be my first choice as they have been around for ages and seem decent
enough, but they tell me that they no longer do Vodafone contracts.

I'm not after the lowest possible cost if it means sacrificing good
advice and proper service.

So - any recommendations, or just as useful, people to avoid? What are
Phones 4 U like now?

Don't discount Vodafone, if you phone them up they will be willing to give
you a better deal than they advertise online. Its worh a call to them.

Carphone Warehouse aren't allowed to sell Vodafone contracts
anymore because of all the problems their shoddy sales tactics
caused them.

Ring them up directly, or even better, get a friend to
recommend you and your friend will get a £50 bill credit!

Try using on of the comparison sites to do a search, there are numerous
online retailers out there that supply Vodafone contracts

try this site, it also has links to Vodafone directly so you get a direct
comparison, I wouldn't bother with a cashback deal as these can some times
be complex to claim, you can exclude these from the searches.
