Default Recommended mobile for my wife?

Hi.

I stupidly arranged a new mobile phone for my wife a couple of years ago.
This was a Siemens CX65. Although she hated it at first, when I then
"upgraded" this to a Siemens CL75 Poppy phone I was not popular as she had
grown to really like the CX65.

Time has come again to get a better phone. I have been looking for ages and
am struggling to fulfil her stringent criteria.

I guess either way I will choose the wrong one - but here goes:

Looks are very important - she is particularly impressed by the Nokia 8800
but this has poor reviews and is very expensive.

It must be able to play MP3 files and use home made MP3s as a ring tone.

She has been put off clam shell phones by the CL75 as it is "too hard to
open".

It has to be easy to use.

I want to buy it on a 12 month contract with around 300 inclusive any time,
any network minutes.

I would really appreciate if somebody could recommend a phone that will fit
the bill so to speak!

Thanks.

There have been similar enquiries to this on other groups (like
alt.autos.bmw - what car for my wife etc.).

Often the answer seems to be that it is cheaper and less hassle to change
the wife...

Yeah the k750i is a great phone and free on many 12 month contracts at
the moment that also work our free over 12 months if you are ok
sending in cashback claims to get this totally free cost.

The pick of the tariffs availble on these 12 month free contracts
currently would be Vodafone's Anytime 500 plus 250 texts which as the
name implies gives you 500 any time any network minutes and 250 texts
for 35 pounds per month BEFORE the line rental refunds (cashbacks).

Other phones I would look at would be the Nokia n72, Samsung e900
(this is also avaible in pink) and the samsung x820 which fit your
requirements and btw are all available on the above tariff and 12
months free deals.

Has your wife been into any mobile shops and had a play with any
handsets to see what she likes as often seeing them in the flesh makes
or breaks the decision fairly quickly...

Thanks for the replies.

My wife has visited every mobile phone shop in the Trafford Centre - she
didn't like one! If I get her a decent phone that looks ok, she'll get used
to it though...

The Samsungs look like the best bet. Thanks again.
