Default Recovering a message left on a Nokia 6250

A friend of mine has recently suffered a close family bereavement.

Shortly before their death the person left a message for my friend on
his phone. He would like to know if there is some way of capturing
this message permanently, for example by converting it into an MP3
file.

The phone is a Nokia 6250 on an O2 contract. All the help O2 have been
able to give is that he should forward the message from phone to phone
every 90 days to avoid losing it.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

I can think of a couple of ways, don't know if it will work with that
handset but putting the SIM in another would.

If the phone has the capability to record calls then that might work.
Then the recorded file can be transferred to a PC and converted to an
appropriate form.

Alternatively if bluetooth is usable then many dongles will allow you to
use a PC as a headset. Then it should be possible to set a standard PC
sound recorder to record from the device if you play the message through
it.

Steve.
