Got a replacement phone a few weeks ago, had to turn to my calendar today to
discover it keeps opening on August 2007, rang O2, they put me through to
S/E, who said to update the software via the pc.

Tried to do this, it will get as far as me installing, but when I try to run
it, its saying I need Flash v9, I try to install flash, that's ok, when I
get to run it, it extracts files, but nothing.. no "new programmes
installed" nothing at all. I am stuck!

I rang o2 again tonight, telling them all this, I said I also did a phone
software update, but its saying software upto date, she said its saying that
cause its lazy, and a pc update will sort it. I even turned the firewall
off while I d/l the adobe file, but nothing.

Any ideas?

Check date settings of the phone itself, to ensure it actually thinks
its 2008.
What you are getting is what i'd expect if the phone thought it was
2007.

It was a very silly mistake but even more astonishingly both O2 and Sony
were unable to spot it either!

Gareth.

Just goes to show these call centres have no real interest in solving your
problem, they just want to get you off the line as quickly as they can, so
they'll tell you you need to update your phone, or re-install the software
or whatever, and if there's any way they can put the blame on something else
(what? you've installed unauthorised software on your phone??) so much the
better...

I'm quite suprised that O2 managed to transfer a call to Sony Ericsson, or
did the OP just mean that O2 gave her a phone number for SE??

I am usually quite happy with the o2 call centre, they actually did transfer
me over, without charge!
