Default s/e K800i problem

Suddenly, my phone has stopped using assigned ringtones for various
contacts, they are all using the default tone, I have reset and reset, and
still the same, any ideas?

Does it still come up with the persons name, or just their phone number when
they call?
If just the phone number, you haven't done something like copied all the
numbers from the phone memory to the SIM card (or vice-verca)?
If the phone has two copies of a phone number in its listings, it doesn't
know which one to use when an incoming call arrives, so uses none of them...

Just to check the obvious, you HAVE checked that the ringtones are still
assigned to the numbers, and that they have not been somehow reset??

Its coming up with the persons name, and their photo, when I look at their
profile, the assigned ringtone is still assigned, but the default still
plays, don't understand it at all!

Are the ringtones stored on the memory card? If so has this has been
removed ?
If so re-insert memory card
