I am considering to get the Samsung U700 but during looking for some
reviews I stumbled over several rather negative issues, like peeling
chrome, unintuitive handling and other issues.
Personally I find the phone is very stylish and so having the chrome
peeling off would be unacceptable, unfortunately even Samsung's support
confirmed the issue but at the same time mentioned only the first models
were affected, in later versions it should be fixed. Can someone confirm
this? How is your experience with the chrome?
Also some aspects of using the phone were often criticised, like too
sensitive buttons, the keylocking, hanging off and others. What would
you say about those issues?
I would really like to hear your general opinion about the U700. Would
you rather recommend it or not?

Can't comment on that model but I've just helped a friend get to grips
with the J600. She (like myself) has been using a Sony Ericsson for the
past 18 months and therefore found the Samsung user interface somewhat
difficult to navigate. She is getting there, but I have to say it's not
as user friendly as a SE! On the other hand, it is nowhere near as bad
as a Motorola!

Thanks, I know switching from one brand to another always comes with
some difficulties, but in this case I read about general usability
issues, like always having to unlock the keys before hanging up. So I
was hoping someone could comment on those. Also the peeling chrome
doesnt sound too nice.

Yes, the J600 seems to need you to unlock the keys before hanging up but
then I guess they expect you to just close the slide. Maybe the auto key
lock needs the settings changed, didn't really get that far.
