Screen size on phones

I have been looking at the Nokia 2630 and the Samsung E250

The specs say that they both have screen sizes of 128 x 160.

But the Samsung looks a lot bigger to me. Am I right?

I prefer the Samsung, but I have been told that these slide phone
sometimes make thier own calls. Please tell me that this will not
happen with this model.

I don't have the specs of either phone to hand, but I assume that 128x160 is
refering to the number of PIXELS in the screen (that is the number of
individual 'dots' that are used to make up the screen image). This is not a
definitive indication of the physical size of the screen, as pixels can vary
in size, so a larger screen could have the same numbers of pixels as a
smaller screen, just that the each pixel is a bit bigger.
(does that make sense?)
I guess it's possible for a phone to make calls by itself if the keypad
hasn't been locked, or if the phone is faulty, but in the first case, just
make sure the keyboard lock has been turned on when the phone is in your
pocket, and in the second case, the retailer or phone manufacturer should
repair/replace the phone if it is defective.
Maybe soneone that owns or knows of someone that owns a E250 could say if
they have seen this problem...?

Thanks for the response.

The larger pixel argument does make sense to me.

Regarding the phone making its own calls. Evidently when some slide
phones are carried somehow they unlock and make calls, therefore
incurring charges. More than one person has told me that their slide
phones have caused this problem.

This is a nice example of the manufacturers confusing customers and
mis-representing the specs.

The figures quoted are for screen resolution (in pixels), not physical size.
The phyiscal size would depend on the pixels per inch (ppi) of the screen in
question.
