SE M600i test question

When I start a text message on this phone and get to 70 characters the
phone then changes the message count from 1 to 2 . So more than 70
means I get a warning box saying "do you want to send 2 messages " I
get charged for 2 as well. The limit is supposed to be 160. ( Tesco on
o2 PAYG ) Sometimes the 160 limit works so the problem is
inconsistent. Ideas anyone?
