SE W580i, email/O2 PAYG

I have a Sony Ericsson W580i (Unlocked and Unbranded) with a O2 PAYG SIM
card in it.

For some reason I can not check my email on O2, it says "Finding Server"
then after a minute or so, it says "Can Not Find Server"

I know the email settings are correct and I have the O2 GPRS Settings.

It used to work when I had a Virgin PAYG SIM in it.

Any ideas?

(The reason why I changed to O2 was for the 500 free any network Texts for
£15 topup P/M)

well this works fine on O2 PAYM, I would hope it works on PAYG (as I am
considering changing to it!), but cannot be sure.

what email provider are you using? If it isn't o2 then make sure you are
sending via smtp.o2.co.uk (this isn't always the case though if your
email provider has authenticated smtp (like gmail for instance), or if
you are using IMAP).

I have just been stung by this myself. It appears that for O2 PAYG
accounts internet access is limited to WAP browsing via a proxy. Pile of
crap.

can you try these settings (the APN settings on page 2)? Not sure if
applicable to PAYG

The APN mobile.o2.co.uk does not work for PAYG customers.
