Default Self-dialing phone

A friend's mobile (cheapo PAYG Samsung) just rang me. Her phone logged
the call, mine logged the receipt, but we were chatting at the time, so
there's no way she could have made the call herself.

Is there some sort of autodial facility that might explain this?

Thanks, Rob

Basic speed-dial facilities, (push a number key and hold it in on most
phones), or put the green button to dial the last number called/dialled
type of thing - almsot all phones have a facility like this.

It probably autodialled by an accidental button/screen touch before the
screen/keyboard lock kicked in.

Surprised this is the first time you've had it happen - I've had it happen
a few times - answer the call, then hear weird sounds in the background,
depending on where the phone is (pocket, bag, etc.) and what the person
is doing - walking, driving, etc.

When my company gave me a phone it was one that didn't "auto" keyboard lock
like my own phone did.

With both in my pockets I would frequently end up with one phoning the
other.

I had one dial the emergency services whilst in my pocket.
A keyboard lock not generally stop this.

I had a phone that had an auto keyboard lock and was a slide type. It
still managed to make unwanted calls when in my pocket.

The emergency services have a name for these calls (which are made with
monotonous regularity): "handbags".

I heard that if it's from a man's pocket, it's called a 'Dictaphone'

Well, this one is set to auto lock (but not password protect) and it
hadn't been used for several hours. It takes at least two clicky keypad
presses to reach autodial. Odd!
