Skype problem with MDA vario 2

Just bought MDA vario 2 with T-Mobile web n walk max tariff (i.e.
unrestricted web access, no block on VoIP traffic)

Have installed skype for pocket PC and can log in to skype, see
contacts, send instant messages etc, but cannot make VoIP voice
calls. When trying to make a VoIP call it says "connecting" but then
nothing happens and after a few seconds view returns to main screen.

Has anyone out there got skype VoIP working on an MDA vario 2 (trying
over 3G connection). If so how (any special settings to configure on
the mobile?) or which pocket PC software version works, etc.!

I had a Vario II and downloaded SKYPE mobile and it worked fine, I can't
remember having to anything to make it work just downloaded it and it
connected, only problem was it had to be on speaker phone so not exactly
private. I remember been in PC world whilst talking to my mate in Japan FOC
on SKYPE ! I am on T-mobile so I was not sure if it would work but no
problem.

Are you sure you downloaded the SKYPE mobile rather than the standard SKYPE
?

Hi Chap,

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the skpye for Pocket PC (version
2.2.0.36) from skype website and had the Microsoft ActiveSync (from
the vario 2 box). Would really appreciate it if you could let me know
where I could get the same version of Skype for mobile software you
have.
