Default SMS Centre on N73 with 3

I decided to "take the plunge" and join 3 at the weekend. Been playing
around with the N73, but it doesn't want to store the SMS centre number
(I can send texts if I type in the centre number each time I send a
text).

If I try to add a message centre it tells me "Text message service
disabled. No message centres available on current SIM".

Any ideas, or do i need to call 3 customer service?

I take it you called three when you first got the phone to register it?

Is there a message centre stored in the mobile?

Goto Messaging>Options>Settings>Text message

'Msg centre in use' should be 3

'Message Centre' 3 should be +447782000800

I can edit my message centre settings and add new ones, so don't know what
the prob is?

Think its a call to 3.

I got the phone from a 3 shop, so I'd assume it was already registered?
Everything else seems to work, and it does send the message if I enter
the centre when sending the message.

There's no mention of 'Msg centre in use'

Trying to go into that gives the no message centres on the sim error.

Will do. Hopefully they can send the settings via SMS or something.

Three customer support is a lot better now than when I had my previous
contract with them. It's worth giving them a call to see, but I would
probably go back to the Three shop and have them set up the phone for you.

Good god, they must've really sucked before!

I solved it now anyway, following some advice in another forum.

Put the SIM in a different phone, switch on and off, put SIM back -
works. Quite bizzare.

Hopefully 3 won't get too arsey with me putting the SIM in a non-3 (but
3G) handset - i didn't make any call on it, but it would still register
with the network.

Now to call O2 and cancel the contract.. no doubt they'll offer me all
sorts of stuff to stay :|
