Default SMS in OSX Leopard?

Hello all.

I've got an O2 Huawei E160 dongle which I use for my T-Mobile
web'n'walk access for my MacBook Pro running the latest release of OSX
Leopard.

I use the Mobile Connect app from Huawei to connect and all works fine
(although I can use the normal OSX Leopard Dialup utility to do the
same thing) but cannot see anywhere to send/receive SMS.

The O2 Windows software permits sending and receiving of SMS and I
assume it's some standard AT command which interprets the SMS but
can't work out what I would do under OSX Leopard and Google isn't
helping me here.

I can just boot into Windows XP to retrieve messages but I'd rather do
it in a more stable and reliable operating system. Any ideas?

Nice and reliable, sadly no E160 drivers for the operating system
which is now over nine years old.

Try the 3g dongle which is availble for peanuts, reflash it for use with O2
and there _are_ drivers for W2k

I'd prefer not having to exit out of OSX Leopard to read text
messages.

(IIRC there are drivers for Macs).

Sorry, I thought you were looking for an alternative operating system to XP.

OSX has them built in already (unlike Windows) but I use their
manufacturers MobileConnect software as I like the data counter it
gives. The OEM software for Windows supports sending/receiving text
messages, but the OSX version lacks this.

Leopard does me fine.
