Default Sony Ericsson HBH PV702 - use with nokia handset?

Recently I bought a Sony Ericsson HBH PV702 bluetooth headset for use
with my Nokia 6230i handset. Unfortunately I can't seem to pair the
two. Infact non of the Nokia handsets in the house seem to want to be
paired with the PV702. None of the handsets can "see" the headset when
it's active. I was led to believe that the headset could be used with
any make of handset, but I can't understand what I'm doing wrong or
whether it is incompatible with Nokia handsets. Any help greatly
appreciated.

Many thanks.

Sounds like you are not putting it into pairing mode. If it's simply
switched on then it will not show up on device scans, it has to be put
into pairing mode.

Have a read of page 1 of the manual of the headset.

i had the same trouble with mine but found info on sony support page.

Make sure that the headset is fully charged, switched on and within 1 m (3 ft) of the phone.
The first time you turn your headset on, it immediately goes into pairing mode. after beeps finish follow instructions below.

To manually prepare the headset, press the VOLUME BUTTONS, (+) and (-), at the same time for approximately 5 seconds until your hear a long high frequent beep and the light flashes red and green. The headset is now in “Pairing mode”.

use code " 0000" when pairing to your phone.
