Sony Ericsson Memory Stick Micro M2 2GB for SE K800 K800i

Does anyone know any details regarding when the M2 2GB Memory card will
become available? It seems silly that Sony Ericsson has to design a new
memory card format when the Duo Pro is available up to 2gb

I agree, and at double the price of SD mini cards. £24 for a 512mb one
from a UK Seller on ebay, I refuse to deal with these rip of chinese
merchants, got stung there before with a 99p item and £10 postage, all
you get refunded if there's a problem is the 99p item!

theres been rumours on other forums that a 2GB M2 will be available at
the end of the year.

i dont think its silly for them to make a new memory stick. the M2 is
so much smaller than the memory stick pro duo.

Easier to loose you mean? How small do you want these cards? I can
quite comfortably swallow a duo pro let alone micro.

And besides, why so many different memory cards. This makes it
difficult for the user to take their memory card from their phone (for
example) and put it on the pocket PC.

Also, where is the competition for different manufacturers for the M2
cards? I don't see sandisk making them; does Sony hold up the market
for this memory card?
