The other day, as per the subject, I dropped my P800, and on going to
put the battery back in, realised that the 3 contacts for the battery to
connect to (i.e. press up against) seem to have broken off. I couldn't
find them, so I'm now stuck with a phone with just 3 metal points on the
circuit board below - is there any way of repairing this by some sort of
soldering-related bodgery, or is my phone well and truly knackered?
If it is knackered, is there any way of retrieving the data (mainly
stored numbers and text messages) on it? I think most stuff is on the
phone's internal memory rather than the memory stick I've got in there,
though I may be wrong.
Cheers,
Peter

I'm guessing that maybe you can solder something conductive on as a
replacement set of contacts between battery and phone, but it's a bit
risky?

Tried powering it on with the charger connected and no battery in? I
don't think i will work but worth a try if you can get it on and
running to get the data off.
