SonyEricsson W330i not recognised in File Tansfer mode

My main computer running XPSP2 fails to find a device driver when trying to
do Disc2Phone via USB.. Syncs alright in Telephone mode
All my media is of course on this machine

Laptop (also XPSP2) work after a fashion but USB device sensing goes
through a string of storage type devices before it latches on..

Nothing about this problem on the SonyEricsson website that I can find..
Would bluetooth connection perhaps work?
