I got one today from
http://w03.v762.net. It has a long URL which
appears to point the phone browser to a WAP url that gives a file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE wml PUBLIC "-//WAPFORUM//DTD WML 1.1//EN"
"http://www.wapforum.org/DTD/wml_1.1.xml"><wml>
<card id="p1" title="mjoy">
<p align="center">
<img src="/img/wml_uk_mjoy01_default_header_320.gif"
alt="Header" />
</p>
<p align="left">
Sorry, we need to identify your phone number before you can
access one of our services. Please enter your number below with your
country code (e.g. +44) and we will send you a WAP push with a link to
our homepage.<br/>
<input type="text" format="*N" name="number"/><br/>
<a href="/app/default/forward?number=$(number)">Send</a>
</p>
</card>
</wml>
The logo referred to is for mjoy and I suspect the "Sorry we need to
identify your phone number" is a way to get you to sign up for one of
these £9/worth of texts per week-type services.
Delete it!
