Default T-Mob mobile BB not fully working?

Hi All,

Step daughter has just moved into a new flat and to get her online
till she sorts out her land-line / bb etc I've bought one of the T-Mob
£20 dongles + £10 top up. It's good for her because if you top up £2
(1 days use) you get the next 30 days free, so hopefully covering her
getting fully sorted.

However, whilst it works pretty well (she get's a full data signal
where she is) some stuff doesn't work fully. Like, I can't remotely
control her PC with Teamviewer (and others) yet she can control me.
Also she can't seem to add contacts on MSN messenger (but I was able
to on my Voda mbb dongle when there the other day).

So, is anyone aware of what T-Mob might be doing here and what do you
have to do to get it fixed (if it can be) please. A quick Google seems
to suggest others have seen similar.

Cheers, T i m

You might need to remove the content lock. It's meant to block access
to 'adult' websites etc. unsuitable for under 18s. Problem I had was
that it was blocking sites that were not really worthy of blocking.
Anyway, removing it did the trick for me!

Hi and thanks for that.

I've just spoken to their C/S and it seems that content block is put
on as std and has now been remove (or in the process of being removed)
removed but it still doesn't seem to help (she still can't add MSN
contacts or see any that were added when we logged in here).

However, I've just got her to un-reinstall Teamviewer and by creating
a password (rather than being given one automatically) it seems I can
now access her remotely (not sure if that has anything to do with the
content block though).

FWIW I was just able (remotely) to create a Skype account (as a test
and for text chat, no VoIP allowed apparently) for her and connect to
my Skype account ok.

I've just done some Windows updates (one was for the USB BB dongle) so
we will see how we get on after that.

Cheers, T i m
