they also won't reactivate it. They want me to buy a new sim for £15
!!
is there a network that reactivate SIMs?
2 years ago i heard some network was offering SIMs for £5. Which one
offers a cheap SIM now, and where?

I've got a Virgin one in the car glovebox for emergencies, if I forget my
main phone, it hasn't had a call made on it since March and it still seems
to work.

Tell them to get stuffed and use Virgin. Much cheaper phone calls anyway.
They recently had an offer for free SIM cards with £5 credit on each. One
call every 6 months keeps you connected.

Tell them to go **** themselves. It's usually amusing when done.

Try Vodafone. A relative on mine went to Australia Nov 2005 and when he
came back in July '06, it worked just fine.........

I've had a Vodafone SIM deactivated myself. That's the only time I've
noticed it. I have Orange and Virgin PAYG SIMs which don't get used very
often.

That will presumably be the same SIMs they are offering for 50p on their
website?

> is there a network that reactivate SIMs?

Orange do but their PAYG tariff is crappy for anything except data.

Steve..

From T&C

You must make a connection action at least

once every 180 days. If you do not your SIM will be

disconnected from the network and you will not be

able to use the service at all. You will lose your

mobile phone number. Any credit on your account

at the time of such disconnection will be forfeited.

Connection

actions include topping up your account and

making a chargeable call. A full list of connection

actions is set out in our booklets of charges;

Officially, on most UK SIMs it's 180 days for either an incoming or
outgoing call (90 days on Fresh). Unofficially, I've read Virgin seems
to stay valid for longest, maybe past a year
