Default T-Mobile PAYG question

Hi guys,

I recently got a Nokia 6131 phone from Argos on the T-Mobile network.
The reception for T-Mobile in my area, Belfast, can be patchy,
especially when indoors. I was wondering if I was to get a SIM card
from a different provider would it work in the Nokia or would I need to
unlock it?

Is there any one network that has reasonably good coverage throughout
the UK? I was on Vodafone before, maybe I should have stuck with
them..... What are O2 like?

Cassius.

Thing I don't like about Orange is their signing up process and having
to give out all your details to them.

Actually, things have changed a little in the past couple of years. If
you buy an Orange PAYG from an Orange Shop (SIMs are free when you buy
a top-up), you get a pre-activated SIM registered with an ID code and
no other details. You'll need to give the shop your name and address,
but those are only for reference for the store and won't be handed over
to CS.

Stopped nearly a year ago. Registration is now optional but you must
register to get promotions etc.

It will need to be unlocked first. T-Mobile can do this for you, but I
think they will charge about £20
