Do you watch or listen to the news? Why do you think messages were delayed?
Are you thick!
I take it you're either very young or have never had a mobile before.
Contact tmobile if you have a complaint - this is a newsgroup.

If you never experienced this on Orange then you are one of the lucky ones.
In my experience Orange have consitently been the worst for sms delays at
busy times of the year, and invariably on new years eve I get 3 copies of a
message from those on orange who send me messages.

I have had a mobile for the last 13 years.
As said peviously I have never experienced this problem in my previous
contract with Orange mobile.
I did not want to contact Customer Serices on New Years day so thought I'd
post a message here.
Thank you for taking the time to post your reply.

I think it's getting worse each year (the New Year message frenzy, that
is; although Orange are too!).
I try to avoid Orange CS wherever possible. I don't blame you for doing
so.

Just looking at mine using T-Mobile I sent five messages at midnight and
they all went within minutes, I also received eight messages between
midnight and two some of which were replies. Each one sent appeared to
have been delivered promptly. I had an Orange contract last year and
sending worked but definitely took longer at the midnight peak as I
couldn't send for about half an hour as I kept getting busy.

All networks have experienced delayed or problematic SMS over this busy
period, it's been getting worse each year as more and more people SMS and
more and more SMS are being sent from those people.
I had problems sending from Virgin Mobile, Vodafone, Three and Orange. The
ones sent from Virgin Mobile were eventually received even though stated
failed.
