Just been called up by this company offering what sounds a great deal.
However the call came through as a "private number" which i thought was bit
odd.

Anyhow the deal offered is:

850 minutes c/n per month
400 txts
1 magic number (whatever that is)
free orange-2-orange
+
handset choice of 4. (Nokia 6300, 6301, Motorola V8, Samsung U800)

All for £5 per mth.

Just called back and found that is a cashback deal and I actually pay £40
per mth. Would be good if I had any faith that I would actually receive any
cashback.

Tell that to the people who have contributed to a 106 page discussion
on Moneysavingexpert about their shady practices.

Whilst I agree they are far more financially secure than a lot of the
smaller outfits their general conduct when processing (or not)
cashback claims is nothing short of appalling.

Agreed, but still not worth the hassle for some if they have to go
through the small claims process.

ISTM from what I've read that is the only way many CPW group customers
can get their money.
