Default Tesco PAYG roaming agreements?

Anyone know if Tesco PAYG roaming agreements are the same as o2 UK
PAYG?

I realise the rates are different and yes I have tried Tesco's CS for
an answer.

The country in question is Trinidad and Tobago.

They have 2 GSM networks, Digicel GSM850/1900 and TSTT/B-Mobile
GSM1800, both seem to have an agreement with o2 UK for both postpay
and PAYG.

TIA,

Sam.

As a general rule if the country being visited does not have a PAYG
system of its own then a UK PAYG phone will not work there - but that
is by no means gospel.

Both Trinidad operators support prepaid service on their own networks,
and for roaming to some places, though I don't think this answers the
original question.

Now that there's competition for mobile phone service in Trinidad, it is
the case that the price of local prepaid service has gotten downright
reasonable (unlike before, where it was rape and pillage whether you
were roaming or bought a local SIM), so it doesn't take much use to
make buying a local PAYG SIM significantly cheaper than roaming. This
by itself won't help if the aim is to keep a UK number alive, but I
often find it is cheaper to do the latter in many cases by call forwarding
through a VoIP service to a local phone.

I would use a local SIM if it were me that had gone, unfortunately it
is my mother that has gone and she has trouble using a Panasonic DECT
cordless never mind a Nokia 6230. ;-)

So SIM swapping might as well be brain surgery to her.

Anyways just rang her in TT and the call went threw which is all that
really matters.

Tesco Mobile UK is a MNVO 50:50 joint venture in partnership with o2,
hence the original question.

Thanks all.

Sam.
