Default Three Broadband Upgrade

For the last few days whenever I have plugged in my three dongle it
has nagged me to install a s/w upgrade for Windows 7 and Mac. There is
no way to close the download window - which lists a 25Mb file and an
estimated d/l time of 20 mins. Even if I choose to 'Snooze' for 3 days
it still keeps nagging. But the real issue is that I'm running XP not
W7. So do I let it download and install, or do I keep choosing to
'snooze' the d/l?

Thanks - Chris B.

P.S. Incidentally I went into a 3 shop in Central London and no-one
there could advice me, but they did give me a 0870 no. to call. But I
don't do 0870 nos. and I don't have a 3 mobile to use 555 for free.
They didn't offer to let me call CS in the shop.

I can't imagine why a Three 3g USB dongle would do such a thing?
Try http://www.saynoto0870.com/ for that 0870 number

Because 3 cannot be bothered to do things properly (ie check OS) and the
dongle uses an auto-install "dashboard App"?

Use a landline for the call? BT made most 0870/0845 calls the same as
01/02/03 some time ago and others have followed the lead :-) I used to
avoid 0870 and 0845, but it's no longer worth the effort!

Methinks you generalise - my telecoms provider (owned by BT) hasn't.

Mmmm... perhaps I could have said "some others, such as Plusnet,", but I
also didn't say "all others".
