Three UK - problems downloading Skype and other applications

Have unlocked SE K850i on 3 with PAYG sim properly topped up + the £5 for 30
days data option. Works OK (am in 3G area) in most respects but try as I may
I cannot download the Skype, Messenger or Gmail applications. Simply get
'operation failed' every time.

Has anyone any idea why this problem - inability to download applications -
might be occurring?

Yes - all's fine on Planet 3. but when I go to the page where you have an
option to download Messenger, Skype or Gmail applications and click to
download, the system tries to do so but after a few seconds the 'operation
failed' message appears. Must have tried several dozen times.

I think I remember seeing somewhere that the "Operation Failed"
message is an error - the download is still going on in the
background, and you just have to wait. Or I could be dreaming. It took
ages to download Mobile Mail to my 6120 ...

This happened to me on my unlocked phones, it only seems to install on 3
branded phones from planet 3. I sucessfully installed Yahoo, Messenger and
Gmail by going to Google ,Yahoo and msn live mobile direct. When you install
on a 3 branded phone from planet 3 it seems to upgrade the applications
rarther than just install them so if it cant upgrade it fails.
