Unlock from 3 CS

Can anyone tell me if you have to pay 3 for an unlock code for your
phone (N70) once your contract is finished with them or do they charge
no matter what? (...and how much!)

You can unlock without having to pay 3. Check this website to receive

Whatever anyone else says these phones cannot be unlocked by visiting
websites. The N70 is a BB5 phone. Put the code in wrong 3 times and it
locks up big time!

I believe 3 charge around £20 to unlock these once out of contract.

Not for BB5 handsets. Considering that most of the bigger box producers
have had the means and method of unlocking these (even if it does involve
patched firmware) for some time, it's about time one of them actually
released it.

I updated the firmware and that unlocked it, easy to do as well
